The Dora Moore PTSA will hold its 35th Annual House Tour, spotlighting the 7th Avenue and Quality Hill Historic Districts.
The tour is being held on Sunday, October 12, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This year’s tour features an impressive array of homes near the historic Moore School building. During the early 1900s, a variety of architects and developers began to build stately homes along 7th Avenue in an exuberant mix of architectural styles. Likewise portions of Pennsylvania were referred to as “Millionaires Row”. During the same period a diverse array of bungalows and four-squares were built along the adjacent streets. These neighborhoods’ eclectic and varied looks attracted residents then as it does today. Each home on this year’s tour has been lovingly renovated, remaining true to its original character while reflecting the needs of modern families.
The locations on the tour are:
- 921 Clarkson Street
- 750 Emerson Street
- 773 Franklin Street
- 926 Pennsylvania Street
- 1500 E. 7th Avenue
- Dora Moore School – 846 Corona Street
Enjoy the shaded streets and neighborhood ambiance as you stroll among the five featured homes and tour the school itself. As always, our tantalizing Bake Sale will be on the tour route at the Dora Moore School.
