Health Updates and Reminders

Posted 11/17/2020

Dora Moore Families,

Thank you all for following health guidelines to keep our students, our staff, and our community safe. Here are important Health Updates/ Reminders:

Dora Moore’s Health Office is led by Nurse Jo and our Health Tech Ms. Whitney, who are also our COVID Coordinators. If your student is ill or may have come in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID, contact the Dora Moore Health Office 720-424-5305.
The DPS COVID Dashboard is the best source of information for COVID data and resources:
School-based Health Centers (SBHC)

Denver Health’s School-based Health Centers (SBHC) form a large network of health centers located inside Denver Public School (DPS) campuses that serve any DPS student as well as children enrolled in DPS-affiliated Early Childhood Education programs at no charge to families. They offer medical, mental health, dental, health education and family planning, as well as insurance enrollment and advising services. If you know the location where you want to make an appointment, please call the center directly using the phone number available on our locations page or call the Appointment Center at 303-436-4949.

-As COVID surges in Colorado, we realize that DPS students are at risk for a COVID-19 infection. School Based Health Centers (SBHCs) can help students with symptoms get COVID-19 testing.
-School nurses can refer DPS students experiencing symptoms to the SBHC medical team.
-The medical team will schedule a same-day telehealth / telephone appointment to determine if COVID-19 testing is necessary.
-If testing is recommended, SBHC staff will refer students to a testing center
*SBHCs are only testing students with symptoms.

We encourage ALL to follow the Health Recommendations wearing masks, physically distancing from those not in your household, and practicing good hygiene.

Thank you again for following health guidelines to keep our community safe!

In Partnership,

Darcy Barr
